4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! Our town hosts a huge parade and fireworks, with several events leading up to the big day. Potlucks and picnics also play a big part in the holiday fun, and of course, the delicious Picnic Food is always top on everyone’s list.

One of the reasons I love this holiday so much is all the 4th of July Desserts and Recipes. There are fun Fourth of July Cupcakes to No Bake Dessert, to Dessert to take to a Potluck, and everything in between.

These Jello Shots are super easy, just by taking an ordinary recipe for finger JELL-O, making it with Cherry and Berry Blue JELL-O, adding whipped topping and layering it in plastic shot glasses, adds a special festive touch to this dessert.

4th of July Jello Shots

These 4th of July Jello Shots are inspired by the Candy Corn Jello Shots or the Irish Jello Shots that I have shared in the past. You can find plastic shot glasses online or in department stores.

Begin by layering the cherry jello about 1/3 full, the recipe will make about 32-36, 2-ounce size shot glasses.

Each of the jello layers, as well as the sweetened condensed milk layer, are mixed with unflavored gelatin like Knox, this will give the jello thickness.

Next comes the middle layer made with sweetened condensed milk. And then the blue jello layer. Each of the layers needs about 20 – 30 minutes in the refrigerator to chill and firm up.

Then right before serving (or up to 30 minutes) add the Cool Whip or whipped cream to the top and sprinkles if you like.

And don’t forget the spoons.
