Today we welcome back our food contributor Maria from Real Life Dinner. You all loved the Pistachio Pineapple Cake that she shared with you all! And her favorite Baked Bean Recipe – Barbecued Lima Beans Recipe. Today she is back with these easy – 3 ingredient – Watermelon Sherbet Floats.
Summer is the best for so many reasons, not the least of which is the abundance of watermelon. I could eat watermelon all day long and in the summer when they are so flavorful and perfect, not to mention usually on sale at the grocery store, watermelon finds it’s way into our menu on an almost daily basis.
Watermelon Sherbet Floats are one of my families favorite ways to eat watermelon they are so refreshing and make the perfect dessert on hot Summer nights.
I had these floats for the first time over twenty years ago at a Tupperware party. even though I was only eleven, I never forgot the surprisingly delicious flavor combination and texture of that interesting dessert. The refreshing cold watermelon with the fruity sherbet and spritzy soda are like a party for your mouth.
Now, as an adult, I have used this fun dessert at parties, playdates and church gatherings. It is always a hit!
Because I have been perfecting this simple treat for many years, let me save you some trial and error. The best way to serve Watermelon Sherbet Floats is with chilled watermelon cut into bite-size squares and with chilled 7up. Having everything nice and cold when they are put together makes them extra refreshing.
I hope you enjoy this fun and delicious Summer dessert as much as our family does.
