“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
I remember, as a young girl, driving around town on Christmas Eve and looking at all the Christmas lights. There was one house that always had a Santa and reindeer on the roof, and my Dad always commented that Santa had started his deliveries already and that we better get home, and get to bed so that he could come to our home too.
Isn’t creating memories what it’s all about during the Christmas season?

The ingredients are simple and inexpensive to make this Magical Reindeer Food. All you need are oats and bird seed, then some colored sugar or sprinkles for a little sparkle.

- Rolled Oats – not the quick cooking kind, although if you have those on hand, they are fine to use
- Bird Seed
- Sprinkles – any kind you like is fine. I like adding a little sparkle to the reindeer food
Kitchen Essentials Needed
- Bowl
- Measuring Cup
- Spoon
How to Make Reindeer Food
- Add all the ingredients to a medium size bowl
- Next simply give the Reindeer Food a good stir
After the Reindeer Food is ready, you can add it to a jar with a lid and have it ready for Christmas Eve.
We used them in our Christmas Eve Gift Basket, did you see it?
Another fun idea for the Reindeer Food is to add it to cellophane bags and tie with a ribbon or twine. Then give it to classmates before Christmas break, or friends in the neighborhood.
