Elf on the Shelf Printables

Elf on the Shelf is a very popular Christmas tradition in many families! According to the storybook, the Elf reports back to Santa what the children are doing – whether they are being naughty or nice.

The origin began when Carol Aebersold and her two grown daughters wrote the book. It quickly became a household tradition. A quick online search and a scroll through social media, will show just how popular the Elf on the Shelf is.

Depending on how you decide what the Elf will do each night – they can get into mischief by knocking things over or making messes in the house – or they can be a little more kind and quietly move around the house bringing cheer.

Elf on the Shelf

These Elf on the Shelf Printables come with three fun ideas for you – cupcake toppers, a “Be Good” banner, and a letter to Santa.

Printable Cupcake Toppers

The Elf on the Shelf Cupcake Toppers have three different designs – Santa’s little helper, Naughty or Nice and the Elf.

How to make Elf on the Shelf Cupcake Toppers

  1. Print out the cupcake toppers – you can do this on your home printer or save the file to a flashdrive and take it to your local office supply or print shop
  2. The toppers are all printed on a single sheet. Next you will need to cut them apart in rows, this makes it easier to cut the circles.
  3. Cut out each circle with a 2 inch hole punch
  4. To add them to cupcakes, you can use a stick, straw or lollipop stick.
  5. Tape the topper onto the stick, then insert into the cupcake.

The Naughty or Nice Letter to Santa can be a fun activity to do with your child.

Printable Christmas Banner

The Banner would be fun to add to your Mantel, or shelves. To hang it, I tied ribbon onto the shelf, then added the banner with small clothespins.

Hi – I am new to printing jpg files. I have access to the link but I am not sure how to save the file so I can print them separate? EI: sheets of cupcake toppers, Signs, etc?

Sorry, probably a very silly question..

    1. Hi Alison, to save any PDF file, you should see a little icon in the upper left hand corner that looks like a file disk – it should be the second one from the left. After it’s saved to your computer you can print – or you can print directly from the PDF.
If you want to take it to the office supply store to print, put a flashdrive into your USB in your computer, then open the PDF and when you click on the file disk to save, use the drop down menu to save to the flashdrive instead of the computer.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have other questions.

        Hey Liz,

Sorry to be a pain, but the file option on the left does not show and it will not save as separate files. Is it possible to send the file direct? I am so bad at this, this is my first time..

        Alison

        1. Hi Alison, I emailed you the PDF’s for the printables. You will still need to save them to print, that is the only way to print them from your computer.

    1. Hi Jacquie,
Here is the FAQ page for your reference. http://hoosierhomemade.com/faqs/
I see you have been a subscriber for quite awhile, since 2012. Every week in the Cupcake Chronicles Newsletter, toward the bottom you will find the links and passwords you need. The Elf Printables are on the Archived Printables page. You can also find them on the Archive Page.
