Winter Wonderland: Sweet Skier & Snowman Cupcakes

Yesterday I shared the Winter Wonderland on Gum Drop Mountain, now it’s time to share with you how to create the Sweet Skier and Snowman Cupcakes.

The different characters and animals are easy to create, especially if you break it down step-by-step.

Create a Sweet Skier to add to your Winter Wonderland - recipe from HoosierHomemade.com

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Candy Kisses
  • Small round candies for the hat
  • Large gumdrops {found these in a tub at Walmart for $2.50}
  • Fruit-by-the-fruit {bought these at Aldi’s, I like them better because they don’t have any printing on them}
  • Toothpicks
  • Colored Twizzlers
  • Jelly Beans {I used Jelly Bellys}
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Mini KitKat Bars

Instructions

  1. %http://hoosierhomemade.com/wp-content/uploads/Skier-collage.jpg
  2. Cut 1 Jelly Bean in half lengthwise, it’s okay if it cracks a little. Attach to the KitKat Bars with Royal Icing or stiff Buttercream frosting
  3. Add 1 toothpick to each leg, and add a small piece of Twizzler, a little longer than 1 inch
  4. Add the other Twizzler and 1 large Gumdrop for the body
  5. 2 pieces of Twizzler for the legs {a little longer than 1?}, 2 pieces of Twizzler for the arms {a little short than 1?},toothpicks for the ski poles and a very small piece of Twizzler of the bottom of the pole
  6. Make the ski poles by pushing the toothpicks into a Jelly Bean and slipping the Twizzler on the bottom
  7. Add the Twizzlers for the arms and attach them to the body
  8. Add the mini chips for the eyes {make a hole with a tootpick and push the chip into the hole, pointed side in} Attach the round candy to the kiss for the hat using Royal icing or stiff Buttercream frosting
  9. Add the head to the body with a toothpick
  10. Cut a 6-8 inch piece of fruit-by-the-foot for the scarf and using a knife, cut slits for the end
  11. Wrap the scarf around the neck, and your Sweet Skier is done
