Cleaning the House. While this is definitely the least favorite task of preparing for Thanksgiving or any other occasion for that matter it of course an essential one. So try to make this a quick and painless as possible by getting the whole family involved.

You know your own family the best so take what I have to offer and adapt it to fit. We have learned that we can get the most out of our time by tackling the house in one day. Normally Liz and I will divvy up the rooms and tackle them individually, however the one room we tackle together is the kitchen.

Here are some quick points to remember when cleaning the house

  • Concentrate on the high traffic areas.
  • Wash windows, not all of them need to be done but entry doors and those in areas where the guests will be congregating should be done.
  • Now would be a great time to clean out the refrigerator to make room for all those Thanksgiving goodies.
  • Clean with the intent that on or the day before Thanksgiving all that will be required is a quick swish and swipe

There are loads of resources out there to help get you organize your time to make your efforts more efficient, which include.

Clean Mama has a list of her FREE Printables that covers almost anything you might want, or visit her Etsy shop for more.
