Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes

Welcome to Cupcake Tuesday! I’m so glad to have you! I have updated the Cupcake Heaven page, there are over 150 designs and recipes! Check it out!!

Even though we love the traditional cupcakes with Buttercream frosting, it’s nice to change it up once in awhile. These Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes are not only a yummy dessert, but could also be served with breakfast or a special after-school snack.

Starting with a Butter or Yellow Cake Mix and adding a Cinnamon Streusel makes these Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes super easy too. Doug said they taste like a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll! Yum…I love those!

To get the cinnamon swirl, I added about 2 tablespoons of cake batter to the bottom of the cupcake liner {just be sure to add enough to cover the bottom of the liner well} then sprinkle on a combination of sugar and cinnamon. Add more batter {another 2-3 tablespoons} and top with Streusel Topping.

  1. Hey! Just made these cupcakes 🙂 Great recipe!

note: the streusel topping did not need 1/4 cup of butter, so next time i would reduce amount.

  3. These are in my oven RIGHT NOW! They smell sooooo good.

I’d like to suggest that you put your website name somewhere in your “printable recipe” section. When you print out the recipe, there’s no source link or name of your site. You should give yourself credit where it’s due 🙂

  4. I made these delicious cupcakes tonight but used the vanilla cupcake recipe from http://www.joyofbaking.com. My favorite recipe and easy. I also added a cream cheese icing on top instead. Just like they have at cinnabun stores. Yummy.
