Caramel Brownies

Caramel and Brownies ~ a perfect match

These have got to be the easiest brownies ever. Last week while baking for the Football Team Dinner, I had already made 12 mini loaves of zucchini bread and 40 cupcakes, and I wasn’t sure if I had enough. You know High School boys, they can never have enough dessert. So I decided to throw together a batch of brownies, but I didn’t want just plain brownies, even though I’m sure they would eat just about anything 🙂

I started with plain brownies, you could use a box mix or from scratch

You may have noticed the aluminum foil in the pan. I line the 13 x9 pan with foil, and then spray it with cooking spray. It’s much easier to cut the brownies that way. Just lift them out, after they cool, and cut. It makes clean up lots easier too.

After mixing the brownies and putting them in the 13 x 9 pan, use Caramel Sauce, like the kind you have for ice cream sundaes

Squeeze the caramel in lines onto the brownies

Take a butter knife and cut through the brownies, slightly mixing in the caramel, both ways, long and short sides.

Then drizzle a little more caramel on top. Just for good measure 🙂
