Simple Winter Decorating
If you have visited my blog before, you probably know well enough, that I love to decorate. I change my decorations for each season, adding in the holidays when they arrive.
But, even though I love to decorate, I need to do so very frugally.
Decorating the outside of our home is no exception. Even though our Christmas lights have been taken down (mostly) I still wanted to have a touch of sparkle.

I left the greenery and lights in the boxes from Christmas. Added some curly sticks that I bought years ago and spray painted them silver. I also used some of the dried hydrangeas that I had and sprayed them silver.

I had 2 metal stars that have snowmen painted on them, so I added one to each of the window boxes.

On the front porch, I have an antique wooden sled with some white ice skates that I bought years ago at Goodwill. And filled a tall metal container with green, added some clear crystal beads, a snowflake and a snowman.

On the other side of the door, one of my favorite snowmen…

Do you decorate the outside of your home? Leave up your Christmas lights or add something new?

It really looks wonderful. I am longing for some window boxes at our home. Right now we don’t do much for the outside after Christmas until springtime.

Cute! I’ve never been good at decorating the outside of my home. Probably because when I decorate it takes me forever because I want to get it “just right” and I feel self conscious doing that outside:) Maybe I’ll have to map it out inside first! Lol. You home looks lovely!

Liz, What a nice transformation! Easy to do, and very festive. I don’t have window boxes, but I have big planters outside that I could incorporate your creative ideas. Thanks for the inspiration.
