Cinnamon Roll Doughnuts

Jump to recipe!

Oh how I love Cinnamon Rolls…buttery, warm and slathered with icing! And then there are Doughnuts…filled, plain, glazed, frosted…I pretty much love them all! Pair the two and what do we have…Cinnamon Roll Doughnuts…yes please!

I’ve shared my love for the new Duncan Hines Frosting Creations with you before, the Orange Creamsicle Push Pops were oh so good, and the Mini Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes with Bubble Gum Frosting were definitely a hit. So when it came time to create a very special Mother’s Day Treat, I knew exactly what to use!

With just a few ingredients, these Cinnamon Roll Doughnuts are easy enough for Dad and the kiddos to bake! Let me show you…

The Doughnuts start with a cake mix {you all know I love that} with the addition of eggs, milk and butter the batter is smooth and creamy. Then you add the Frosting Creations Cinnamon Roll flavor packet for a big burst of delicious cinnamon.

After the Doughnuts are baked and cooled, they take a little dip in melted butter and another burst of cinnamon and sugar. A drizzle of Frosting Creations Cinnamon Roll sends these little babies over the top with perfect flavor!

Don’t have a doughnut pan? No worries…you can easily bake these in a mini muffin pan for about 7-8 minutes.

Notes

Liz says...I love making doughnuts, but if you don't have a doughnut pan, you can certainly make these in a mini muffin pan. Regular size muffins are okay too, but might be a little big.

We paired the Cinnamon Roll Doughnuts with Breakfast Pizza and Fruit Salad for a perfect Breakfast in Bed for Mother’s Day!

  5. I was going to make some Cinnamon Roll Muffins with DH Frosting Creations in Cinnamon Roll piped in the middle, for a Mother’s Day breakfast at a friend’s church for tomorrow, but I might do the donuts instead. I do have a mini donut pan, and a large one, too. Great idea!
