One flavor that just screams Fall is Caramel Apple. And what better way to celebrate than with a Caramel Apple Cupcake?
I started with a butter cake batter, and instead of oil, I used applesauce. Then added a little cinnamon, allspice and cloves. You could also use a spice cake mix.
Filled them with apple pie filling and a couple caramel bits
I made Buttercream frosting but instead of milk and vanilla, I used maple syrup.
Some of them, I drizzled with caramel sundae topping and added caramel bits
And some I used a popsicle stick, with caramel bits and nuts
And the inside…

Heaven in a cupcake liner! I think I’ll have to make these this week.
I really need to get in on this cupcake Tuesday! I wish I was brave enough to just mess around and come up with my own recipes.. but I leave that to the hubby (he makes awesome BBQ sauce, but don’t ask for the recipe because he just throws a bunch of stuff in! lol)

These look amazing!! I love caramel apple taste but hate the chewy stuff sticking to my teeth so this is a great alternative. I had company this week and have been gone so I did not make any cupcakes this week. I am starting a carnival for holiday cookies so if you also bake cookies, I would love to have you come join!
