Walmart Shareholder’s Meeting 2012
Sometimes I need to pinch myself…am I dreaming or is it real? I have worked really hard, most days at least 12 hours and most weeks at least 6 days, but I am doing what I absolutely LOVE! Through hard work and passion, I was asked to join the Walmart Moms program.
This program has been a blessing for our family, and I thank God everyday for this opportunity. Sure, we work hard, but with that hard work comes some pretty nice perks. For the second year in a row, I had the privilege of attending the Walmart Shareholder’s Meeting.
The Walmart Shareholder’s Meeting is not your typical meeting, sure they share information about the company and sure we learn about the hard work of amazing associates and sure there are lots of numbers shared, BUT there is entertainment…and not just any ol’ celebrities…oh no…you guessed it…that’s Justin Timberlake as our emcee!
And the very talented Taylor Swift…
Lionel Richie…as great as ever
And the absolutely AMAZING Celine Dion! Yes…she is as gorgeous as you think, and her voice…incredible! I was so excited to have the chance to see her, she only sang a couple songs, but it was still amazing to see her in person!
All these great celebrities in one place helping Walmart celebrate 50 years!
But it wasn’t all fun and games…oh wait! Yes, it was!
We also heard from Mike Duke, President and CEO of Walmart. You may recognize, Valeda from the commercials, she has worked for Walmart for 50 years! It was a jam packed morning with other stars like Zac Brown Band and Juanes {who I couldn’t understand, but his music was beautiful}.
And although the trip was short, we were also able to meet with Walmart Executives, tour the Layout Centers and enjoy a fun-filled evening at the Steak-Over event featuring the new USDA Choice Premium Beef.
Oh and yes…I couldn’t forget these little babies! The Bubble Gum and Cotton Candy filled cake and cupcakes we enjoyed during the Steak-Over Event!
Although we met with lots of different departments, a couple that stood out to me, were the apparel and produce. We were able to give our opinions on the apparel that Walmart carries and make some suggestions for the future. And during the meeting with the produce executive we learned about the locally grown program as well as their continued commitment for higher standards in the produce department.
Thank you to the Walmart Mom program and for another outstanding trip!!
Disclosure: This post is part of a campaign I am participating in with the Walmart Moms. Walmart has provided me with compensation for this post. My participation is voluntary and opinions, as always are my own.
Wow what a blessing to be able to go two years in a row. It is every associate’s dream to be able to get to attend one of the shareholders meetings. Thank you for all that you do, and being a part of the walmart team. 🙂
