Slushies with Ice Cream
These Slushies with Ice Cream are a perfect afternoon treat by the pool, during Game Night and they make a fun and easy weeknight treat. The flavor options are endless, and the addition of Ice Cream makes them even better. They go together in minutes and cost about $1 for the whole pitcher full.
July is National Ice Cream Month and what better way to celebrate than with…well…Ice Cream, it’s the perfect time to stock up! And even better – let’s treat the family to these easy to make Ice Cream Slushies!
We all love to go to our local Ice Cream Shop, but let’s face it, it can be expensive for our whole family to go. We can easily spend close to $20. So many years ago, I began looking for fun ways to make treats at home. These Homemade Slushies have been a favorite with the boys for years.
Enjoying a fun evening at home doesn’t need to take a lot of time or money. During the Summer, when it’s too hot to be outside, it’s fun to pull out the board games, and spend time together. To make it super easy, we enjoyed Klondike Bars, Popsicles and the Slushies with Ice Cream.
For the Slushies with Ice Cream, you will need water, ice, sugar, flavoring (I used flavored syrup) and ice cream. The new Magnum Tubs have a hard shell of chocolate that you crack with a spoon and then enjoy with the ice cream.
After the water, ice, sugar and flavoring are well blended, it’s time to add the ice cream. For more flavor, I added the white chocolate shards to the slushies.
Then it’s time to add 2-3 scoops of ice cream. The flavor combinations are endless!
Serve the Slushies with Ice Cream in a fun glass! The kids (and adults) will love it!

I was wondering what kind of flavor syrup. Do you mean like snow cone flavor or what
Hi Shari, I like using Torani flavored syrup, you can also use Kool-Aid if you want.
-Liz
The packs of kool aid and if so how much and the regular or the one no sugar. On the first ingredient it says 2cups of ice water (11/2 cups of water and then fill with ice so do I put 11/2 cold water and the the other 1/2 with ice.
Hi Shari, yes – add 1 + 1/2 cups water to a measuring cup. Then add ice until it measures 2 cups. When you add the ice, the water will raise to the 2 cup level.
Then add the sugar, Kool Aid. Add 2 packets of Kool Aid. Mix in the blender until smooth.
Then add ice cream, mix until smooth.
Enjoy!
-Liz
Ok. Follow the instructions and when it says the flavored syrup add the 2 packs of kool aid. Use the regular packs or no sugar.
Thanks
Yes that’s correct.
Can you use chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla
Yes any flavor will work, depending on what flavor kool aid you use.
What is the best kool aid flavor to use if you use chocolate ice cream
Thank you very much
I’m not really sure, I haven’t used chocolate ice cream before. Maybe Strawberry ?
Oh my gosh, brings back memories! I used to make something really similar when my kids were little. So yummy!
I agree Amanda! I used to make these Slushies all the time when my boys were little!

We’re in the middle of a heat wave here and these would be absolutely perfect!
Oh gosh! I heard the heat has been terrible this year. We are actually unseasonably cool, which I actually don’t like.

I love the pretty colors! So fun to serve at a party.
Thanks Beth! Yes, perfect for a party!
