Real Mom Kitchen Cookbook:Pastry Cream-Filled Filo Shells

By July 28, 2011Baking, Dessert, Mini Desserts

I’m so excited to share a new cookbook with you! Fellow food blogger and friend, Laura from Real Mom Kitchen has a new cookbook coming out next month. And I got a sneak peak!

The book is full of wonderful, easy recipes that real moms can fix for their families. Laura shares Appetizers, Breads, Soups, Salads, Main Dishes and of course Desserts…our favorite around here.

I love how easy but impressive these Pastry Cream-Filled Filo Sheets are to make. They would make a great addition to any luncheon or even for a potluck dinner.

Pastry Cream-Filled Filo Sheets

  • 1 box {5.1 oz} instant chocolate pudding
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 pkgs mini Filo Shells, thawed
  • Assorted Fruit for garnish {strawberries, blueberries, bananas, etc}

  1. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, milk and heavy cream.
  2. Whisk together until smooth.
  3. Let set for a few minutes, use immediately.
  4. Place pudding filling in a large decorator bag or ziploc bag. Close tightly.
  5. Squeeze filling into thawed Filo Shells.
  6. Garnish with fruit right before serving
  7. Makes 30 pastries

Watch for the Real Mom Kitchen Cookbook coming next month!!
