Pillsbury is commemorating Funfetti 25th Birthday this year with four all-new frostings in bold, vibrant colors; Bold Purple that comes with brightly colored dot sprinkles, Aqua Blue that comes with shark sprinkles, Hot Pink that comes with pink sugar sprinkles and Vibrant Green that comes with dot sprinkles.

The Mini Funfetti Birthday Cupcake Cones are just as fun to make as they are to eat! Along with the Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix and the new Funfetti frostings, I also used Mini Cones. You can find them right next to all the Ice Cream Cones and toppings.

How to Bake Cupcake Cones :: HoosierHomemade.com

How to Bake Cupcake Cones

  1. Mix the cupcake batter according to the directions on the box
  2. Lightly spray a mini muffin pan with cooking spray
  3. Add about 1 tablespoon of cake batter in each
  4. Turn cone upside down and place on top of batter, be sure to totally cover the batter
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for about 6-8 minutes

Notes:

  • You can also fill the cone with batter about 1/2 full and bake upright. I have found the method above to be much easier.
  • If your cone does not totally cover the batter, it’s okay, it will just bake up more around the cone and spill over the edge of the cone a bit.

After the Cupcake Cones have cooled, fit a decorator bag with a large round tip, fill with Funfetti Frosting and pipe a swirl on top, finish with sprinkles.

Are you celebrating a birthday soon? Here are a few fun tips for you…

  1. Keep it simple. If you are serving food, make as many of the dishes ahead that you can. I like serving “Make Your Own” Bars, like Tacos or Hot Dogs with lots of yummy toppings.
  2. Celebrate for the whole month by hanging a fun Birthday Balloon Wreath on the Door.
  3. If you have more than 1 child, take turns having a large celebration. Birthday parties can get expensive, so take turns with the kids.

  1. A very memorable birthday for me when younger and a pretty cool tip…My mom stretched my birthday out for the week…a small gift each day leading up to the big day with cake and ice cream and always a dinner of my choice…the cake was also of my choosing. This is back when home baked and cooked and still the best.

  2. My best birthday tip is to order a personalized banner that is generic and don’t use an age on it! That way you can hang it up year after year!

How cute! What a great giveaway! Sure hope I win!

  4. Lori J. H. says:

We always shop all year round for sales on items we know the people we’re buying for really want. I also like to make the cake fresh the day of the party, early or the night prior.
    Thanks 🙂

  5. Make a simple punch. Keep the cake out of reach of little fingers until it is time to blow out the candles.

  6. Take a picture of the birthday person and the guests. Then use the pics in thank yous.

  7. Natalie J Vandenberghe says:

This may not sound too impressive or original, but I make the dessert and dinner my kids want on their birthday. They seem to appreciate it 😉 Thanks for the giveaway.
btw, My SIL’s birthday is today and two of my daughters celebrate May birthdays (oldest on the 22nd, youngest on the 31st)

  8. I always plan ahead and make a list. That way I can find the best deals out there. I also start decorations ahead of time and just have them ready to go!

  9. My tip is to remember that even “grandma and grandpa” want to feel like kids again on their birthday so cakes and ice cream are mandatory. Games are fun for them too.

  10. We like to plan mid afternoon birthday parties so we only have to serve cake & ice cream and not a full meal.

  11. shop early and hit the sales.

  12. Anne Haun says:

Relax and enjoy – if you let yourself get all stressed out, you will not enjoy the party.

  13. Those look so good, and I love the idea of baking them upside down. I have tried it the other way and it was such a pain. If you want to send guest home with cupcakes or in this case cones, I like to get clear cups from the dollar store and pretty plastic goody baggies. All you do is put the cupcake in the cup then place it in the baggie and tie it up with a pretty ribbon. Its a great way to transport a cupcake.
