Even though my boys are a bit older, I still create Easter Baskets for them. Doug and I were chatting recently about Easter and how sometimes the celebration of baskets filled with goodies are sometimes limited to only the kids. We began thinking of alternatives to what you might consider a traditional Easter basket. After a bit we decided it would be fun to put a gardening themed Easter basket together to give to that special gardener in your life.

Besides baking, one of my favorite past times, is gardening. My Mom and Dad were both avid gardeners, I received my love for gardening from them. We also have several family members and friends who love gardening.

This Tuesday a group of women got together and made similar baskets. Actually, we bought lovely baskets from thrift stores, and plants from Walmart. We divided and shared the different plants, putting five varieties into plastic pots. We then put the pots into the baskets, and covered the soil and spaces with Spanish Moss. We then made some silk roses on sticks, and added Easter eggs on sticks to decorate our baskets. They were really inexpensive and just lovely.
