Patriotic Candy Skewers for Fourth of July

Jump to recipe!

Candy…kids love it…adults love it…candy puts a smile on everyone’s face! So what better treat to serve at your Fourth of July Celebration, take to the Parade or maybe even pack a picnic for beach…Patriotic Candy Skewers! But these are not your ordinary candy skewers, these are kicked up a little for Fourth of July with fun toppers on them.

The kiddos will have a blast helping you create them too! The candy possibilities are endless, but here is what I used…

Patriotic Candy Skewers Supplies

  • Red and Blue Gummies – rings, raspberries and flowers
  • Xtreme Air Heads – blue raspberry
  • Star shaped marshmallows
  • Wooden skewers

Toppers

  • Wired flag garland
  • Pinwheels – I used scrapbook paper and cut them 2 1/2 and 3 inches square, and used my instructions on how to make a pinwheel

Are you hungry yet?

Oh after the Candy Skewers are all done, you will need to serve them. I used a trifle dish wrapped with ribbon and filled with floral foam. On top of the foam, I added a couple layers of plastic wrap and then poured in red and blue M&M’s.

Sadly, I ran out to buy the candy and I couldn’t find anything similar! I went to all the major stores and there just wasn’t anything in the red/white/blue category.
    Thanks for sharing.
