Candy Corn Cupcakes: Food on a Stick

Welcome to Cupcake Tuesday! I’m so glad to have you! I have updated the Cupcake Heaven page, there are over 150 designs and recipes! Check it out!!

All week long, over at Pocket Change Gourmet, Doug and I are sharing some fun Food on a Stick Ideas. We kicked off the week with Asian Meatballs on a Stick, and today there will be Chef Salad on a Stick. Each day we will share a fun new recipe, and on Thursday will be a giveaway for On A Stick Cookbook by Matt Armendariz.

Because I thought you all might like some fun Desserts on a Stick, I’ll be sharing fun ideas with you, stop back the rest of the week.  Today are these easy and of course, kid-friendly, Candy Corn Cupcakes!

Candy Corn Cupcakes
Easy and kid-friendly, Candy Corn Cupcakes from are a whimsical addition to your fall festivities!
  1. Mix the cake mix and divide into 3 bowls, tint 1 with yellow coloring and 1 with orange coloring
  2. Fill mini muffin tin with cupcake liners and add mix to each
  3. After the cupcakes have cooled, the decorating begins
  4. Add a gum drop {I used yellow} to the wooden skewer
  5. Frost each of the cupcakes using a Decorator Bag and #10 Round Tip. I just made a swirled, back and forth design, anything will work
  6. Then start threading the cupcakes onto the skewer
  7. Add a few sprinkles and a candy corn to the top
Note: These won’t last a super long time before they start settling down and slipping a bit, so I would suggest that you assemble them as close to using them as possible. They will last about an hour or so. Also, be sure you have your jar or whatever you are going to display them in ready, because you can’t lay them down after you make them.

This photo is a little crazy and whimsical, but I just had to share it. I have a new camera, have you noticed?? I’m slowly learning to use it, thanks to my good friend Gina, and my hubby Doug, that actually read the manual…and can comprehend it!

Be sure to watch for the Cupcake Chronicles Newsletter this week…I’m sharing Fried Cupcakes {on a stick} of course! {as long as they turn out}

Now it’s your turn…show off your cupcake creations! Be sure to link back so others can enjoy the cupcakes and check out the other cupcakes!
