It’s that time of year…Football Season! Whether you are an avid football fan {like my hubby} or not {like me}, we all love the game day food! But keeping it quick and easy is definitely the way to go. Our family has been fans of King’s Hawaiian Bread for a long time, the sweet bread that comes in a large loaf, served with spinach dip.

So when I spotted their new King’s Hawaiian sandwich bread; mini sub rolls, sandwich, hot dog and hamburger buns, I knew we would all love them! And sure enough…we did! Especially piled high with Slow Cooker Barbecue Pork!

While I’ve made many Slow Cooker Barbecues, this was a new recipe for me and it will definitely be a keeper! The Barbecue Sauce would also be good on chicken or beef. Slow Cooker Barbecue Pork Sandwiches

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes

Delicious barbecue sauce that can be used on Pork, Chicken or Beef. Recipe from HoosierHomemade.com.. Adpated from Pillsbury

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pound Pork Roast – I used Center Cut Pork Loin
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce – I used Sweet Baby Ray’s
  • 1/2 cup peach or apricot preserves
  • 1/3 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar, packed
  • King's Hawaiian Sandwich Buns

Instructions

  1. Trim off excess fat and place roast in the Slow Cooker, set to low
  2. Combine all other ingredients, except buns and pour over roast
  3. Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours
  4. Remove roast to cutting board and cut into pieces or shred
  5. Return meat to Slow Cooker and heat through about 20 minutes
  6. Serve on a King’s Hawaiian Sandwich Bun
