Easter Egg Crafts for Kids

Round up the kids – scissors – and glue, it’s time to get crafting! These adorable Easter Egg Crafts for Kids are so fun to make! And they make a great Easter centerpiece too! 

I can’t begin to count how many dozen Easter eggs we have colored over the years. I bet you are the same way. It always made such a mess – towels and newspaper covered the table, vinegar, cups and spoons everywhere, but oh was it fun! Even though my boys are older, we still color eggs – and yes, it’s still mess, but we have fun.

There won’t be much mess with these Easter eggs though. The adorable little animals only take a few supplies and the kiddos can help too.

They look really cute, nestled in grass on the table. You could also use them as place settings, put them in a basket or give as gifts. Let’s get started…

I found all the supplies I needed at Walmart. The eggs are really neat, they are painted chalkboard. You can certainly use regular plastic eggs, however there are a couple reasons I used the decorative eggs. 1) plastic eggs have holes on each end, and I thought the animal faces would look funny with holes in them and 2) using a hot glue gun, I wasn’t sure the plastic egg would hold up.

If you have little ones helping, you can use regular glue, the hot glue is super quick though.

Easter Egg Animal Supplies

• Eggs – plastic or chalkboard Easter eggs ($1.98/dozen)
• Fuzzy Kit – this package includes the pipe cleaners, fuzzy pom poms and googly eyes
• Craft Foam – this is sold by the piece or I bought a package of multiple colors
• Pencil and Sharpie (not shown)
• Scissors
• Glue
• Heavy Felt (not shown) for the bunny

I think they turned out really cute. The options are endless for transforming an egg into an animal, or really even just decorating it.

For the pig you will need – 

• Pink Egg
• Pink Craft Foam
• Pink Pipe Cleaner
• Eyes
• Pom poms

Instructions –

1. Draw a template for the ears. I just free handed it. Be sure to leave a little extra to fold under for the glue
2. Cut out ears and a small circle for the nose
3. Using the pencil, curl the pipe cleaner for the tail
4. Glue on the pom poms for the feet
5. Then glue the rest of the face and ears
6. Using a Sharpie or black marker, mark the nose

For the bunny you will need – 

• White Egg
• Pink and White Felt – you can also use craft foam, I thought the felt looked fuzzy though for the bunny
• Eyes
• Pom poms

Instructions –

1. Draw a template for the ears. I just free handed it. Be sure to leave a little extra to fold under for the glue
2. Cut out ears – inside (pink) and outside (white)
3. Glue on the pom poms for the feet, and one for the tail
4. Then glue the rest of the face and ears
5. Using a Sharpie or black marker, mark the mouth and whiskers

For the puppy you will need – 

• Purple Egg
• Purple Craft Foam
• Purple Pipe Cleaner
• Eyes
• Pom poms

Instructions –

2. Cut out ears and a small triangle for the nose
3. Glue on the pom poms for the feet
4. Then glue the rest of the face and ears
5. Using a Sharpie or black marker, mark the mouth

For the cat you will need – 

• Yellow Egg
• Yellow and Pink Craft Foam
• Yellow Pipe Cleaner
• Eyes
• Pom poms

Instructions –

2. Cut out ears and a small triangle for the nose
3. Glue on the pom poms for the feet
4. Then glue the rest of the face, ears and tail

For the mouse you will need – 

• Blue Egg
• Blue Craft Foam
• Blue Pipe Cleaner
• Eyes
• Pom poms

After the Easter Eggs are all done, it’s time to add them to your Easter Table Decorations.
