Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Jump to recipe!

Happy Monday friends! I’m going to start my Monday by telling you {once again} that I have the best hubby in the world! On Friday afternoon, the flu bug decided to strike with a cough and stuffy nose, and continued on throughout the weekend, where I spent most of the time in bed. But I knew I had to share something delicious with you today, and had planned Homemade Cinnamon Rolls.

So we chatted a few minutes, and Doug agreed that he would gladly make the Cinnamon Rolls so I could share them with you. We ended up adding a little twist to some of them for Mardi Gras, similar to the King Cake with dough and a layer of cinnamon. And used the Bread Machine to make the dough.

Here we go…Homemade Cinnamon Rolls that even a MAN can make!

I’ve tried lots of Cinnamon Rolls over the years, one of my favorites are from the Cinnabon Store in the Mall. But these are the BEST I’ve ever had! The rolls have a perfect combination of sweetness and buttery flavor, but not too sweet.  And the glaze is a simple powdered sugar and milk combination.

Aren’t they beauties? Doug did a great job…let me show you how easy they are!

  1. After the dough is done in the bread machine {recipe below} turn it out onto a well floured surface
  2. Add flour and knead until dough is not sticky
  3. Dough is ready to roll
  4. Roll out dough, being careful not to push too hard, form a rectangle
  5. Brush with melted butter
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture and then chopped pecans
  7. Roll up dough
  8. Using a serrated knife, score the log into equal parts and then slice
  9. Place in a buttered 13×9 pan, cover with a towel and let rise for 45-60 minutes

In case you don’t have a Bread Machine, and would love another great Homemade Cinnamon Rolls recipe, head on over to Amy’s Finer Things.

And if you are looking for a fun Mardi Gras Treat, try adding a few colored sprinkles to the top after spooning on the glaze.
