Witch Fingers Cookies

Jump to recipe!

One of the long time favorite Halloween Treats are Witch Fingers Cookies. Have you tried them? They are really pretty fun to make…and eat!

They are easy to make, but I did figure out a few tricks {ha,ha get it?} that might help you.

Witch Fingers Cookies Supplies:

First, so they can dry, paint the finger nails with red and black coloring. Lay out a piece of wax paper on a plate {so you can move them easily} and paint the almonds, set aside to dry.

After I made a couple batches that were bumpy and had air bubbles in them, I figured out a few things.

  • Roll dough into a smooth ball, about the size of quarter, or a little larger
  • Place dough in the pan, in the middle
  • Be sure you do NOT spray the pan {tried it, and the cookies were really brown}
  • Push the dough from the middle to the edges
  • Be sure the pan is not over full. Fill only about 2/3 full, and try to level it the best you can.
  • Take the pan and hit it several times on the counter. This will take out as many air bubbles as possible.
  • It’s okay to have some air bubbles, I think it adds character to the fingers, but you don’t want a ton.

Decorate:

  • After the cookies are cooled and the nails are dry, attach the nail with light corn syrup
  • Using red coloring and either a fine paintbrush or toothpick, add the “blood” onto the finger
  • I added a few gummy worms and displayed them in the Wilton Treat Boxes

Speaking of Wilton Halloween goodies…Have you entered the Giveaway yet? It ends Friday, October 7th…so hurry!

Have you heard of Melt? Rich and creamy Melt is a butter alternative made of virgin coconut oil, flax seed oil, palm fruit oil and canola oil. It provides the good fats your body needs when you take out other fats in your diet. Melt cooks, tops and bakes just like butter.

After trying it a few times on our toast and waffles, I decided to give it a try in the Witch Fingers Cookies. The consistency and color is different than regular butter, but the taste is the same.

You can learn more about Melt’s Virgin Coconut Oil, Healthy Gluten Free Butter, and their Butter Substitute.

There is also a fun contest going on over at Melt Buttery Spread until October 31st.! Mingle with Melt and win a $500 Gift Card to host a Dinner Party for yourself an 10 guests! How fun!! I love hosting parties!
