Sweet & Tangy Chicken Wings

Sweet & Tangy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • Chicken Wings {3 pounds, about 30 wingettes} We buy them at Aldi’s
  • Salt, Pepper and Greek Seasoning {added before cooking}
  • 1 + 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce {we used Original}
  • 1/4 cup red or white wine vinegar {we used white}
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar {packed}
  • 1 teaspoon garlic {minced}
  • Dash of salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Line a large cookie sheet with foil, coat the bottom with oil or cooking spray. Spread wingettes evenly on cookie sheet. Wings do not need to be thawed. Drizzle with oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and Greek Seasoning. (or other seasoning you like)
  2. Broil for 5-10 minutes on each side until golden brown. Or cook them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. Transfer to Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker.
  3. Combine sauce ingredients, pour over wings, toss to coat. Cover and cook on low for 3 – 3 1/2 hours.
  4. Serve with Ranch Dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.

I’m sure you are familiar with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, but did you know that they have other sauces besides the Original. I was surprised to learn they also have; Buffalo, Hot Buffalo, Extra Hot, Sweet Heat BBQ, Sweet Chili and Chile N’ Lime.

  1. Didn’t care for this recipe!!!! Way too tangy

  2. this is the best wing recipe ever!! Made them today for the Superbowl, and my husband declared them…”Better than Pizza Hut!!” except he’s requested I make them hotter the next time. I did put them under the broiler for about 5 minutes per side just before serving. Delicious sauce!! Thanks so much!
