Summer is all about fun, but we need to keep in mind that our kids can get as much enjoyment from a good book as they can an afternoon at the park or playing video games.
There is nothing that can replace using your imagination to build the scenes in your mind as you immerse yourself in a great story. I have over the years shared reading experiences with my boys and let me tell you that when you can talk about a story with kids you get an insight into how their minds work and the joy you gain with your kids will last a life time. And don,t tell the kids but it’s a great way for them to learn.
The Children’s Book-of-the-Month Club has chosen books for their Summer Reading Seriesthat will entertain and enlighten your kids while fueling their imaginations with such authors as Rick Riordan (The Lightning Thief), John Grisham (Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer) and Jeff Kinner (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) to name a few.
Now is your chance to check out their program and build some memories with your kids!
