Father’s Day Dinner Ideas: Grilled Pork Chops

Jump to recipe!

Sunday is Father’s Day! Do you cook a special dinner for your Dad or hubby?

We have been grilling up a storm on our new grill, and these Pork Chops have quickly become a favorite with my men! The marinade has a sweet, citrus flavor that was perfect on the Grilled Pork Chops, but could be used pretty much on any meat.

But first, I have something VERY exciting to share with you! See that little blue box at the top of the recipe? It’s a brand new feature that I have for my readers, and you are going to LOVE it! This will be a location that will make it easier for you to store recipes you find here to a central recipe box and then add the ingredients you need to your weekly shopping list.

I’ve teamed up with ZipList.com to make this possible. They power the recipe boxes and shopping lists you find online at popular food sites, like MarthaStewart.com and AOL’s KitchenDaily.com, and now they’re at Hoosier Homemade. You can add recipes to one central recipe box here, on ZipList.com, on any other partner websites or mobile apps, or using ZipList’s free mobile apps, and they all get saved in one place.

Pretty cool huh?

So here are the basics. First, you’ll now see a blue “Save Recipe” button next to the title of each recipe, just above the Ingredients. I have added it to today’s Grilled Pork Chops Recipe. When you click this blue button you’ll be able to save this recipe to a recipe box that you can access from the new RECIPE BOX section on the navigation bar at the top of the page, right under the HOME button.

You also have the option to save the recipe ingredients to your grocery list, making it easy to plan your weekly shopping. You can then access your grocery list, which has automatically categorized the recipe ingredients by aisle, from the new shopping list section that can also be found on the same navigation bar.{under HOME} You can then add anything else you need to buy for the week, like milk, eggs and juice, to the same list.

The Ingredients…

I bought a large package of Pork Chops at Walmart, there were 8 large chops. We grilled all 8 because of the house full of men I have, but you could certainly freeze part of them for another meal. It’s less expensive to buy meat in large packages, just split the package, place in freezer ziploc bags and they are ready for another meal.

Is your mouth watering yet?

Doug has been wanting to re-create the Pork-on-a-stick that he and the boys always look forward to at the County Fair. Now, he can grill his own with this marinade!
