The beginning of the school year is a very special time for children and their parents. There is always a lot of excitement in the air, so why not celebrate with a special Back to School Party?

With all that has to be done before school begins, we like to keep things simple and easy. The decorations are simple too. The cardboard letters are simply spray painted with chalkboard paint or you could also use flat black paint if you don’t plan on marking on them with chalk. And the Flash Cards are strung on a piece of twine.

Often times the school year brings great joy, but sometimes there is also a struggle. In the midst of our excitement, we sometimes forget about the children that don’t have enough to eat. So this Back to School Party is not only a celebration, but also a life lesson for children and ourselves.

This Back to School Party is about giving back!

To attend our party, there is an admission – it’s simple though – bring any non-perishable food items to be donated.  Just like the “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign that Tyson Foods and Champions for Kids are involved in, party-goers will be helping feed hungry children.

For our main snack, we served Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and State Fair® Corn Dogs, grapes, apples, and bagged snacks.

To add a little pop of color, glass jars are filled with inexpensive crayons and pencils that can later be used as school supplies.

The Candy Pencils make a fun take home treat for the kids.

Through the “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign, Tyson Foods and Champions for Kids have joined together in their fight against hunger to donate one serving (defined as 4 oz. of protein) for each item purchased, up to 240,000 servings. The “Be a Hunger Hero” initiative runs during the month of August.

Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and State Fair® Corn Dogs can be purchased at Sam’s Club, check your local store for availability. There will be in-store demonstrations on August 8, 9, 15 and 16.

So this year, while you are out shopping for all the Back to School supplies and clothes. Please keep the “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign in mind and grab some Tyson® Chicken Nuggets and State Fair® Corn Dogs to serve your family from Sam’s Club.
