Easter Dessert Stand:How to tutorial

Jump to recipe!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Not only is it a religious holiday, but it also means that Spring and Summer are on the way. I love brightening up the house with fun Easter bunnies, eggs and bright colors.

Recently during a shopping trip for the Budget Friendly Chicken Phillies, I buzzed down the Easter aisle at Walmart and found some super cute little egg shaped plates. I have been wanting to make a Dessert Stand, and these little plates and cups would be perfect.

Easter Dessert Stand Supplies:

  • Egg shaped plates
  • Metal cup or other bowl
  • Glass candle holders {I bought these at Dollar Tree}
  • Gorilla Glue or a hot glue gun

Directions:

Glue candle holders to plates and cup. If you use Gorilla Glue, be carefully not to get too much on, because it oozes out and DOES NOT come off the plates {ask me how I figured that out} When using a hot glue gun, as always, be careful!

Place books on top for weight until glue is set. I placed a candle in the cup to weight it down.

After you have them all assembled and they are dry, now you can add your goodies. Today I added a little grass, Marshmallow Peeps {watch for some homemade ones soon}, candy eggs and Homemade Peanut Butter Cups.

One of the cool things about this project is, you can make them for any holiday or everyday use. It was very easy and went together in about 10 minutes.

I think these would make a cute gift too. You could wrap them with cellophane and turn them into an Easter basket. I wanted to share some of the other cute things I saw…

  1. Easter plates for the dessert stand {$1.25 each}
  2. Metal cups for dessert stand {$1.50 each}
  3. Paper plates {just thought they were cute}
  4. Glasses {these would brighten your cabinets}

Total cost for the Easter Dessert Stand, not including treats and grass…$6.00 plus tax. A frugal and fun centerpiece for your Easter table!

    I never thought of using cheapy holiday plates and gorilla glue. In the past I’ve just stacked our plain white plates between clear cups and then stacked cupcakes on them… but your idea is much cuter.
    Thanks.
