Simply U Shampoo & Conditioner

Simple, easy and creative recipes and projects delivered straight to your inbox.

I was recently asked by Collective Bias to shop for the new Simply U Shampoo and Conditioner. With teenagers in our home, we seem to run out of shampoo all the time, and if they run out of their shampoo, then they start using mine.

My hair is very thin and fine, so I like buying shampoo and conditioner that has volumizing in it. The Simply U Shampoo and Conditioner is Sulfate & Paraben Free and also contains vitamins and antioxidants.

According to Wikipedia Sulfate is…”A foaming agent is a surfactant, which when present in small amounts, facilitates the formation of a foam, or enhances its colloidal stability by inhibiting the coalescence of bubbles.[1]”

and Paraben…”are a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas. These compounds, and their salts, are used primarily for their bactericidal and fungicidal properties. They can be found in shampoos, commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, topical/parenteral pharmaceuticals, spray tanning solution and toothpaste. They are also used as food additives.”

So what does all that mean…well I’m not a scientist, but I do know how I like my hair to look and feel. After trying the shampoo, I did see some improvement in volume and I liked how silky it felt too.

UPDATE: This is a review of this product. I do NOT sell this product. Please look online to purchase.

you really need to read up on sulfates. the good and the bad. and understand that not everything is what you see. sulfosuccinate is different then sulfate.

I have tried many sulfate free that have these sub ingredients that end in the word sulfonate not sulfate. they are not clear of chemicals but they are shown to be safer then sulfate.

so please look it up and do some reading before you turn others off for wrong info.

I recently started using Simply U Smoothing & Moisturizing for my wild, brittle hair and it left my hair so touchably smooth, it doesn’t feel crinkly or dry or frail anymore, and it also helps that the product is ridiculously affordable :] The first shampoo/conditioner I’ve been able to use on my hair that doesn’t leave it a frizzy wild mess!

My boyfriend gave this “Simply U” shampoo and conditioner. I have never heard of it so I thought I will give it a try. When I first started to shampoo my hair i freaked out a little bit because the texture was nothing I have ever experienced, but the end result was AWESOME! I have finally found a shampoo and conditioner that fits my hair type and leaves it fresh and clean and not heavey. I am Itlian and Puerto Rican so my hair is funny sometimes Thanks Simply U for coming out with a great product! Anyone that has never tried go out know and try this product you will fall in love!

Nobody has mentioned the Simply U GEL. My dad (who happens to be 75) picked it up somewhere…I’m guessing Walmart…and he and I both LOVE it!! I use it on my 2 year old who has super curly hair and it works awesome! My dad couldn’t remember where he got it, which is how I ended up here. But he frequently shops at Walmart so that would be my guess.

Your scalp will need a couple of weeks to stop producing what you see as excess oil. This is normal. You are no longer stripping all of the natural oils from your scalp when you use detergent free shampoo. The long term use of detergent shampoo creates the need for your scalp to compensate for the stripping of all of the natural oils. Use of a shampoo that does not strip all of the natural oils from your scalp creates a condition that results in hair that gets oily faster than you are used to. Your scalp will need time to adjust to the absence of detergent and not kick into over production of sebum to re moisturize. Also, the lack of detergent on your scalp should ease the dryness. Your dry scalp should eventually improve. Hang in there Miranda for a few weeks if you quit the first try. You will be rewarded with better hair and scalp by going sulfate and paraben free. I know my hair has improved drastically.

Simply U is just plain wonderful! My hair has been amazing! I have been using the one for color treated hair for about 3 mos. Now and people actually ASK me why my hair is so shiny! My daughter uses it too, and her long hair is GORGEOUS! The problem is finding it! That’s what brought me here…I’ve been browsing the web for almost 2 hours trying to figure out where else I can get it! I live in Phoenix and happened across it at one of the two Walmarts I shop @. The other (which is a Supercenter as well) doesn’t carry it. The one that has it is out all the time! They have the regular one, but not the one for color treated hair. Why can’t we locate the company??? Weird! If you can track it down, its totally worth it! The shampoo does not foam a lot, but that is good! Keep in mind that the stuff that makes it do that is not good for you! If anyone finds it online….let the rest of us know!!!
