Thanks to Charlotte from The Paper Cupcake  for designing them. Pop on over to her Etsy Shop, she has super cute party printables that are reasonably priced.

The Picnic Printables come with napkin wraps, drink tags and snack bag toppers and have a traditional red and white check background on them.

Now let’s make some fun Picnic Cupcakes to go with those printables! These Hamburger and Hot Dog Cupcakes are a small version of the original Picnic Cupcakes. Made with vanilla wafers and various frosting and candy, I originally spotted them on My Cake School and decided to make them look like a picnic tablecloth.

How to make cookie hot dogs

  1. Cut mini vanilla wafer in half
  2. Place on cupcake
  3. Add hot dog using Tip #10. For the frosting, I mixed red and brown to get the hot dog color
  4. Add ketchup and mustard using Tip #3 or #4

For the cupcakes… Using Tip #233, which is the grass tip, add grass to 16 cupcakes. Using Tip #47, or other tip that is flat with a textured side, frost 6 white and 6 red cupcakes, adding the frosting in stripes to make it look like a tablecloth.

For the ants… Soften Tootsie Roll in microwave for 5 seconds, roll 2 small pieces for the body, add to cupcakes. Add a brown M&M for the head. Pipe on antennae and legs using a Tip #3 and brown frosting.
