Patriotic Cookie Dough Truffles

Jump to recipe!

Do you have room for one more Fourth of July Treat? Even if you don’t make these Patriotic Cookie Dough Truffles to celebrate the Fourth, you can certainly share them with your guests this week or even throughout the Summer. And who doesn’t love Cookie Dough Truffles?

By using the same recipe I have used many times before, I simply changed the color of candy melts making them festive. There are  no eggs in this recipe, making them safe to eat. And should I mention…they are delicious and a little addicting too!

If you haven’t made Cookie Dough Truffles before, they are actually very easy. Here are a few tips I have…

  1. Freeze the cookie dough for at least 1 hour {longer is fine}
  2. Shape dough into balls, place on wax paper and freeze again for about 30 minutes {longer is fine}
  3. If the candy melts or chocolate is too thick, add a drizzle {very small amount} of oil and mix the chocolate well
  4. Remove 5 or 6 balls from the freezer at a time, and dip in chocolate
  5. Place balls on wax or parchment paper
  6. Watch my video showing you the easiest way I have found to dip the balls

  1. Do these need to be frozen or refrigerated once there made?

    1. Hi Abigail, you can keep them in the fridge. You may want to pull them out 30-60 minutes before serving though, that way they will be room temperature and not sweat or have condensation on them.
