Our Summer Vacation

We had a great summer! We were able to do a lot of fun things, accomplish some much needed chores and the boys learned some new tasks too.

At the beginning of summer, I had the boys come up with a list of things they would like to do. We divided the list into free, small, minimum and large cost things.

We had time for most of the things on our free list, and a couple things off each of the other lists.

Here are some pictures of our fun summer…

Free List:

Beach

Ice Cream Sundae Night

Make S’Mores

Caught Lightning Bugs

We also:

  • Went to the Park
  • Made Homemade Pizza
  • Went to Cruise Night
  • Had a camp out in the Living Room
  • Went to the Free Wed. Movies
  • And had a friend over (more than once)

We were also able to do several fun things from our other lists…

Blueberry Picking

Silverhawks Baseball Game (minor league)

Mini Golf

Casey's Party.12

And…

  • went to the movies
  • got ice cream downtown
  • date night with Mom

And we were able to do a few things from our large cost list…

Deep River Waterpark

Doug and 2 of the boys were able to go on a short Road Trip to visit his Dad in the late Spring.

And probably one of the biggest, most memorable things we did all summer was to watch Nick play baseball in the District, State and Regional Babe Ruth Tournaments. The team won the District and State and were the Regional Runner-ups, which has never been done in our town. They had 17 wins and only 3 loses in Tournament play.

You’ve given me an idea to try to summarize my summer. So, in a sense: summerize. (Oops. Nerd alert!)
