Did you enjoy your Christmas? Were you able to create some fun Cupcakes? I took some to my husband’s family, along with some Cookie Dough Truffles and Peanut Butter Cups.

Because we traveled 5 hours, I packed the cupcakes and supplies seperately and added the filling and the frosting after we arrived. I made chocolate with sprinkles and white with cranberry mousse filling topped with marshmallow frosting {recipe coming soon}

Enough about Christmas though, this weekend is New Year’s! Do you have plans? Will you be hosting a party? How about creating some cupcakes?

If you have been around for a little while, you may remember the Cocktail Cupcakes I created last Summer. If not, well, you can read all about them. There is even a video showing you how to create them.

For the New Year’s Cocktail Cupcakes, I baked the cupcakes the same way as the Cocktail Cupcakes, using a white cake mix. Each glass fits about 1/3 of a cup of batter, bake them at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, watching them closely.

They are decorated with white Buttercream Frosting, some I added white sugar pearls and the others I used a round tip to create the “bubbles” with a sprinkle of pearl dust.

Here is a closer view of the tops…

Now, in case you don’t have the Martini Glasses, can’t get them, or simply don’t want to use them. I created some other New Year’s Cupcakes for you also.

The two cupcakes toward the back have a swirl of Buttercream Frosting using the Giant Round Tip and a horn simply stuck into the frosting and cupcake.

The cupcake in the front is a re-creation from last year. Using AirHeads and Starburst candy that I heated for about 15 seconds in the microwave, form the champagne bottle, glasses and streamers.

Here are a few other ideas for you…

These Countdown Clock Cupcakes are super easy. You could even eat one every hour if you want.

And from this year, during the Holiday Cupcake Challenge

Champagne Buttercream and stars make these New Year’s Cupcakes special.

So tell me…do you have plans for New Year’s Eve?

Not sure if I missed this information but…..did you grease the inside of the martini glass?
Just love this idea….you are to be congratulated on such an original idea. Thanks.

    1. Hi Annabelle, you can lightly spray the glass, but it’s not necessary. The cupcakes will be eating out of the glass with a spoon.

  2. LOVE the Cocktail cupcake idea. How would you suggest traveling with these? I want to make them for a friends birthday coming up.

    1. Hmmm…very carefully 🙂 Just kidding, you could probably put them in a deep box or container and stuff tissue paper or newspaper around it.
Good luck! I’d love to see a picture when you are done.
