Meal Planning 101 – Week 2

Jump to recipe!

Last week was the first step in Meal Planning 101 over at  The Happy Housewife. We came up with 15 meals.

This week we are adding 5 more meals and side dishes.

I have to be honest, I have an easy time coming up with the main dish, but really can’t seem to plan the side dishes. I usually just end up throwing something  together while the main dish is cooking, I don’t really plan it and therefore, we probably don’t eat as good of a balanced meal as we should.

So, first, here are my additional 5 meals…

Tostadas.2

  • Loaded Tostadas (I made these for the first time this week and they were awesome, everyone loved them)
  • Oriental Noodles and Egg Rolls (Have made these before, but added the egg rolls this week for a new meal, another hit, Wow, 2 in a row this week, Im on a roll)
  • Mostacolli
  • Spaghetti and Meatballs with Alfredo Sauce
  • Chicken Phillies (Have done these on the grill and on the stovetop, they are great too)

Fried Zucchini

Okay, now for the sides…

  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Baked Potatoes
  • Sweet Corn
  • Green Beans
  • Spanish, Chicken or Plain White Rice
  • Fruit Salad
  • Garden Salad
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Baked Beans
  • Deviled Eggs
  • Carrots
  • Asparagus
  • Potatoe and Pasta Salad
  • Veggies and Dip
  • Fried Zucchini

  1. Great meals! We do tacos a lot but I hadn’t thought of tostadas, great idea! Thanks for linking up.

  2. All of that looks so good! I will have to try to Mexican dish and the Asian noodles too. Thanks for stopping by my site and leaving a note. We had a wonderful time at the Zoo and happened to be there when they were feeding the polar bears. We got some great shoots and have a great time. Blessings.

  3. I love fried zucchini, I haven’t tried it in a while! I am going to try your recipe for Asian noodles next week. Thanks for sharing.
