Last Sunday, after having a great frugal trip to the beach, we decided to have Ice Cream Sundaes. The boys had fun building their own sundaes and at a fraction of the cost of the Ice Cream Shoppe.
I bought Ice Cream at Walmart for $2.50 each, Neopolitan and Chocolate Chip, Reese’s Peanut Cups for $1.00 (enough for S’More’s also, I will share those later in the week), Whipped Topping $1.25 and Hot Fudge Topping $1.50. We had all the rest of the goodies at home.

Sprinkles (2 kinds), nuts, sliced strawberries, butterscotch and strawberry syrup

This was a great finish to a really fun afternoon. And, I have to confess, I didn’t make dinner either. We did snack a little before our sundaes, but they were mostly our dinner. I know, what a bad Mom I am, Ice Cream for dinner! Oh well, it is summer…

YUMMY and a great idea for some family time!
We love ice cream cake! This sounds so good.
love icecream and what fun this would be
We’ve done the same thing!
We love doing that too and yes, way more cost-effective.
We usually make coke floats and chocolate shakes. That sounds yummy and my kids love the blizzards from sonic — I never thought about buying the stuff and making it myself. Thanks for sharing this.
Totally works for me
