Halloween Party: Potion Bottles

Jump to recipe!

We finish up our Halloween Party on a Budget with these easy, but oh so ghoulish Potion Bottles. With just 3 easy supplies; jars, labels and Modge Podge and of course the “potions”, you can make these creepy bottles that are sure to be the talk of your party!

I made this set last year and added them to the Halloween Decorating, so when we were coming up with ideas for the Halloween Party on a Budget, I knew right away I wanted to dig them out and use them again.

Here is what you will need…

  • Glass Jars {any jar will do, I used some old antique jars}
  • Copies of Spooky pictures
  • Modge Podge
  • Potions {we used cooked fettuccine noodles, pieces of cauliflower, broken pieces of Triscuit crackers, Chow Mein Noodles and strips of Hot Dogs and colored water}

I found several Spooky pictures for you to choose from…

Graphics Fairy has tons of great printables! I found this label in Halloween Clip Art. Karen has awesome graphics, head on over and check them out!

These Vintage Labels came from Spooky Shows. There are a whole page that you can choose from!

And here is the set I used from Love Manor. You can find lots to choose from on their Flickr Page and for more creepiness, head on over to the blog!

Thanks to Free Printable Fun for the help!

Halloween Potion Bottle Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the jars
  2. Print and cut out the labels
  3. Using Modge Podge, glue them on and add a coat over the label too
  4. Let dry several hours
  5. Fill the jars with water and add a little food coloring
  6. Then fill with creepy ingredients {cauliflower, hot dogs, crackers, Chow Mein noodles, cooked spaghetti, whatever you have on hand}

They definitely add some creepiness to your Halloween Party Table!

And in case you were wondering, the Skull Jar was left from last year’s Halloween Mantel, I just added some bones to it for the Halloween Party.

And in case you missed any of the fun, here’s a recap so far…
