Groceries and Deals for the Week

I did great again at Aldi’s, my favorite grocery store.

A few items that I didn’t list last time:

Whole Chicken ($.79 per lb)  $4.13

Garlic ($.79/4 in bag)

Oil  ($2.29)

And a couple special deals

Corn ($.10 per ear)

Vidalia Onions ($.69/6 per bag)

Whole Grain Bread ($.64)

Cheese ($1.29/8 oz. bar)

Total  $52.83 for 48 items

Kroger: I usually only stop and get the items that are on sale, that I have a coupon for. This week, I got

Potatoes  ($2.98/10 lb.)

Kraft BBQ Sauce ($1.00)

Pudding Snack Packs ($1.00/I rarely buy these, but had a coupon, so I thought they would be a nice treat for the boys)

Total  $6.98 – coupons $2.00 – Total OOP $4.98

Walgreens: Didn’t do really great here, but had RR (Rewards Receipts) that needed to be used.

Toilet Paper  ($11.99)

Crystal Light ($2.50)

Twizzlers ($1.50)

Total $19.83 – coupons & RR $5.00 – Total OOP $14.83 – Total Saved $17.16

CVS: Although I spent a little at Walgreens, I did really good at CVS. Our hometown CVS is being re-built, but I happened to be going to a nearby town to the Fabric Store, so I went to their CVS.

Transaction #1

Milk ($1.99)

Total $3.98 – Received $2.00 in ECB – Yeah, Milk for .99 a gallon

Transaction #2 (Yes, I took the Milk to my Jeep and walked right back into the store.

Laundry Soap ($6.99/BOGO Free)

Total $7.48 – coupon $1.00 and $2.00 ECB – Total OOP 4.48

Dollar General: I typically don’t go to DG, and have never shopped their ad and taken coupons in, but just happened to get the ad in the coupon insert last Sunday, so I thought I would give it a shot.

Ranch ($2.00)

Kool-Aid (5/$1)

Peanuts ($2.50)

Total $7.84 – coupons $2.50 – Total OOP $5.34

Grand Total  – $117.51 – I budget $150.00 for groceries and household items, so this week was good.
