We all love Memorial Day…the official kick off to Summer, and with that comes Cook-outs, Potlucks and Picnics! And of course…Memorial Day Cupcakes! Over the last couple years, I’ve shared several Memorial Day Cupcakes, so for Cupcake Tuesday today, I thought I would put together a little round-up for you to pick your favorite and whip up a batch for your Memorial Day Party!

Let’s start with my favorites…

Well, recently Walmart starting sharing a series of videos to help you with your to-do list…Projects Made Simple. All of the supplies you need can be found at Walmart.

After browsing through the videos to see which one I wanted to share with you, it didn’t take me long when I spotted the How to Repair a Running Toilet, after all…it’s been on a list for WAY too long.

We hopped in the Jeep and headed to Walmart to grab what we needed…

Supplies to Repair a Running Toilet

• Flush Valve Flapper
• Sponges
• Scissors

Doug made a video to show you just how easy it is.

I never thought I would be excited about a toilet that works properly. I’m hoping this will cut our water bill down a bit, and I also won’t have to hear the toilet running during the night.

I first shared these little beauties, WAY back in the early days, and they are actually getting a little interest on Pinterest, so I thought you all might like to see them “a little better.”

Let me show you just how easy they are…

How to make Jolly Rancher Lollipops

• Preheat oven to 275 degrees
• Unwrap Jolly Ranchers
• Line a cookie sheet with foil and add parchment paper on top, spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray
• Lay candy on cookie sheet so that it is touching
• Bake for about 7-8 minutes, keeping a close eye on them, remove from oven when they are melting together but be careful not to leave them too long
• Immediately add the lollipop stick, turning it once to coat
• Let them set at room temperature about 5 minutes to harden

These make a quick everyday treat, but you could also use them for Birthday Parties, end of the School Year Party, Baby Shower, or you could make them in your favorite team colors for a Sports Party. The ideas are endless, and don’t limit yourself to Jolly Ranchers {of course, we love them} but any hard candy will work.

I remember growing up, when my parents would take us camping, my Mom always made little pies over the campfire that she called Puckies. When I spotted the recipe for these Easy Fried Pies, it reminded me of fun times we had camping. And after cooking up a batch and giving them a try…I was reminded even more.

Doug thought they tasted like elephant ears, and even though my two oldest boys don’t like cherries all that much, they liked these Fried Pies.

With just a few ingredients, you can whip these babies up in no time! Let me show you how easy they are…

Step 1:

• On a lightly floured surface, roll out biscuits until they are thin, about 4-5 inches

Step 2:

• Add about 2 tablespoons filling to the middle, fold over and seal with a fork

Step 3:

• Time to fry them up until golden brown and give them a little sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar

It had been a long time since my last make-up purchase. I was especially excited to try the Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab Foundation. I don’t really spend much time on my make-up and having a 2-in-1 product is great.

The coverage was great, the colors blended right into my skin and I enjoyed the added benefit of the hydrating serum. Since there were 3 jars in the Beauty Kit, I gave 1 to my son’s girlfriend, and she loved it too! The Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab Foundation is available at Walmart for less than $13.

The next product I tried was the Olay Clean & Mild Make-up Remover Cloths…loved them! When I do wear make-up, I hate…hate spending time removing it. These cloths were soft, did a great job removing the make-up and didn’t leave any sticky feeling after using them. They are less than $4, available at Walmart.

The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream was next…this old gal needs all the help she can get!

I’m not very picky about what make-up I wear, but I enjoyed this Covergirl LashBlast 24 Hr. I wear contacts and it’s not fun when mascara flakes off and gets in my eye, I had no problems with this mascara.

Covergirl Blast Flipstick was definitely a hit with my son’s girlfriend. I don’t wear lipstick, so I gave it to her to try and she loved it. It’s also great having 2 shades in one stick.

And the last products I tried were the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner, they are silicone free and leave your hair feeling clean with no build-up.
