Farm Chicks Cupcakes

Every week, on Wednesday, Amy at MomAdvice hosts a Notebook Experiment. She always has a great list of ideas. A few weeks back, she had a Notebook Experiment “Can I make cupcakes from scratch?” She used the recipe from The Farm Chicks, one of my very favorite sites to visit. I decided to join in and bake the cupcakes too.

First you sift the dry ingredients

Then you add the wet ingredients

Then you add the boiling water

The directions say that the batter is very runny, and it is. I usually use this ladel to fill my cupcakes

But with these cupcakes, I had to use a measuring cup

A little tip to those trying these, don’t overfill the cupcake liner, some of them really puffed up and overflowed.

I filled them with French Vanilla pudding. Read about an easy way to fill cupcakes here.

I frosted them using the Farm Chicks Buttercream Icing. And used these tiny, tiny candy sprinkles that I found at a Candy Store in a nearby town. They were $1.49 for the bag, and you can’t even tell that I used any. I’m sure the bag will last for ages.

Aren’t those delicious? That batter is the strangest batter I have ever worked with, but I am so glad they turned out!
