Easter Craft for Kids

Easter is right around the corner! I always like to decorate early so I can celebrate longer, and this Easter Craft for Kids is a fun way to get everyone involved in the Easter decorating.

This fun Easter Craft is brought to you by our friends at Duck Tape.

Growing up my Mom always put a grass nest on the Dining Room buffet for Easter. So we thought it would be fun to create a little garden with grass for the bunny cups. This centerpiece is fun, kid friendly, and will make everyone excited for the egg hunt!

The Bunny Cups are a fun little project for the kids to make. I think they would also make great classroom treats, or Sunday School treats, small gifts for neighbors and much more. The simple design means the kids can create them mostly on their own and the Duck Tape lets everyone inject their own personality!

Let’s grab the supplies and get crafting!

Easter Craft for Kids

Supplies

• Duck Tape – we used the new pastel colors and a couple different patterned choices
• Cups – paper cups (12 oz) for larger bunnies and treat cups (0.5 oz) for the small bunnies
• White Cardstock Paper
• Eyes
• Scissors
• Craft Knife
• Cutting Mat
• Pen or Pencil
• Adhesive

Step 1

• Add Duck Tape to cardstock paper to make the inside of the ears.

The reason we add it to paper, instead of just cutting it out, is that it makes it MUCH easier to cut and it also makes it sturdier.

Step 2

Cut out the inside of the ears. I drew the ears on white paper, then cut a smaller ear for the inside.

Step 3

Then add the inside of the ear to the white paper with adhesive.

Now it’s time to put together the Bunny Cups!

1. Add a strip of black Duck Tape to the white cardstock paper
2. Using a ruler and Craft Knife, cut very small strips for the whiskers
3. Draw a template for the nose, and cut it out of the pink Duck Tape
4. Gather the eyes, whiskers, nose and ears to add with glue dots. I like using these for kids, they are sticky, but they aren’t messy like regular glue, and you don’t have to worry about a hot glue gun either.
5. Attach the whiskers on the cup with a glue dot
6. Add the nose on top of the whiskers with a glue dot
7. Add the eyes
8. Add the ears

Now it’s time to fill the Bunny Cups. Fill the cups with candy and small toys, we used plastic tops, bubbles, whistles, bendable rabbits, parachute bunnies, and candy.

After the cups are done, it’s time to make a cute little garden for the bunnies to gather in.

For the Bunny Garden you will need…

• Box
• Brown Duck Tape
• Green Duck Tape – we used 2 shades of green
• Scissors
• Ruler, Cutting Mat and Craft Knife

Directions

1. Cover the top of the box with brown Duck Tape
2. Continue covering
3. Cut a 4 inch piece of green Duck Tape and attach one edge to the box
4. Loop the tape onto itself, leaving a small amount of tape showing
5. Attach other end to the box
6. Strip the tape to look like grass

Tip: it goes a lot faster if you cut a bunch of the strips for the grass at once, then attach them.

We filled in the box with the “grass” except for where we added the Bunny Cups.
