Well, here we are, only a couple days from Thanksgiving. Are you ready? I have one more cute Turkey Cupcake for you. They are super easy, and the kiddos will love to help create them too!

Aren’t they cute? I bet they would be “gobbled” up…haha! Sorry, just had to!

I had planned to use small twisted lollipops for the tail feathers, in fact I looked at three different candy stores for them. Since I didn’t find them, improvise, is what I did. Candy necklaces are cut apart and threaded onto a toothpick…easy…frugal and super cute!

Instructions

  1. Bake and cool cupcakes
  2. Frost with Ivory colored icing
  3. Fit a decorator bag with a giant round tip , fill with chocolate frosting
  4. Pipe on head
  5. Add toothpicks for the tail feathers – I used 5 toothpicks, 3 in the back and then 2 a little closer and in between
  6. Cut a candy necklace apart and thread the candy onto the toothpick
  7. Add the sprinkles for the eyes, Sunflower Seeds for the beak and waddle

Turkey Tips:

  1. After piping on the head, smooth out the frosting by running your finger under hot water
  2. It’s easier to put the toothpicks into the cupcake then thread the candy
  3. Before you add the last candy, push the toothpick down a little, then add the candy, that way the toothpick won’t show
  4. Use tweezers to add the eyes, beak and waddle
