Welcome to another Christmas edition of Cupcake Tuesday! Wow, Christmas is almost here! Are you ready? Me? Not even close
My house is decorated though, if you’d like to take a peak, here are my 10 themed trees, I will share the rest later this week.
But, we aren’t here for decorating, although, I would love to write every post on it, we are here for Cupcakes. And, I love writing about Cupcakes too. Especially these Christmas Cupcakes. If you missed the first 2, head on over and check out the Holly Cupcakes and the Gingerbread Cupcakes. And if you need even more inspiration, my Cupcake Heaven page has 38 different cupcakes.

This week I’m sharing Candy Cane Cupcakes. These cupcakes were truly lots of fun to bake. You could also change them up to fit your event, holiday or themed party.
I started with white cake mix and divided it in half, I tinted half red, using Wilton No-Taste red coloring, I found it at Walmart. It’s important when you buy red coloring to get the no-taste, because red is very bitter.

Last month Doug, my husband, bought me 2 new cupcake pans from Wilton, one of them was the jumbo pan, I made these cupcakes in that pan. I think that’s one reason they were so much fun to make.
Anyway, after coloring the cake batter, I filled decorator bags and we piped the mixture into the cupcake liner so that it was side by side.

We (Doug & I) experimented and layered the batter and it turned out a little more like a Candy Cane.

I did not add any flavoring to the batter, but only because my boys don’t like mint, but you could certainly add some and I think it would be great.

For the frosting, I did add some peppermint to some. I started with Buttercream and also added some crushed Candy Canes. I decorated some of the cupcakes with mini Candy Canes, some simply with red sugar and others with a Hershey Candy Cane Kiss (oh man are those good
)

Now it’s your turn! Please share your cupcake or muffin recipe! For the guidelines, you can visit Cupcake Tuesday. Be sure to link back to this post and visit some (or all) of the other participants.

Yummy and beautiful! I have yet to find no taste food coloring. I will have to look at our local Wal-Mart.

I love the swirl in themiddle of your cupcake. It does resemble a candy cane. WalMart is great, and I also use AC Moore for Wilton Products. Usually there is a coupon for 40% off, and sometimes 50%.
I haven;t seen Candy Canes out yet . Will look today.
