This time of year is full of great food, festivals and county fairs! We all love visiting the different county fairs around where we live, and no matter which one we visit, the one treat I always look for is Cotton Candy.

I totally understand it’s probably the worst thing ever for me, but it’s just so good – flavored sugar spun and piled high on a stick – it doesn’t get much better than that…but wait – maybe it does get better – how about Cotton Candy Fudge?

How fun! I know what you are thinking though…wow there is a lot of sugar in that. Guess what? Fellow blogger, and friend from The Creative Circle, Aimee from Shugary Sweets makes amazing treats! If you don’t follow her, you should! A couple months ago, I spotted her Pink Lemonade Fudge made with Duncan Hines Frosting Creations flavor packets , so when I was looking for inspiration and a great recipe for this Cotton Candy Fudge, I knew just the girl I needed to find.

A simple mixture of Truvia Baking Blend, butter, heavy cream and salt is cooked on the stovetop.

The Duncan Hines Cotton Candy  Frosting Creations is whisked in, and then mixed with Marshmallow Fluff and white chocolate chips. The creamy mixture is then poured into the pan and placed in the fridge to set up overnight.

Truvia Baking Blend is a sugar substitute blend of zero-calorie Truvia natural sweetener and sugar then packaged in a product that’s designed for easy, at-home baking. It also can be substituted for sugar in any recipe by simply using half as much Truvia Baking Blend as you would sugar.

Cotton Candy Fudge

Cotton Candy Fudge

Yield: 55-65 pieces depending on size
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

Fun treat that will remind you of enjoying a bag of cotton candy. Recipe from HoosierHomemade.com

Ingredients

  • 1 container (7 oz) Marshmallow Fluff
  • 2 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup Truvia Baking Blend
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 packet Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Cotton Candy flavor

Instructions

  1. Prepare 9 inch square pan with parchment paper or wax paper
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the marshmallow fluff and white chocolate chips
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, Truvia Baking Blend, heavy cream and salt
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and boil for 5 minutes, continuing to stir
  5. Remove from heat, whisk in the Cotton Candy flavor packet until mixture is smooth
  6. Carefully pour into large mixing bowl and beat until smooth
  7. Pour mixture into pan and spread evenly
  8. Place in fridge to set at least 2 hours or overnight
  9. Cut into small squares to serve

    I can no longer get the Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Packets in Cotton Candy. Is there a substitute I can use? If so, where can I get it Thank you!

    1. Hi Charlotte, we are planning on testing this recipe with flavoring oil like cotton candy or tutti frutti, but we haven’t had the chance yet. I have seen the packets on Amazon or Ebay though.

    2. An excellent substitute for frosting flavors (which are discontinued in some areas) are the unsweetened kool -aid packets. It makes the best pink lemonade fudge, tangy & sweet.

    This recipe looks great but I can’t find the Frosting Creations flavor packets. I don’t think they make them anymore. Any alternatives?

    1. Hi Diane, I have seen the packets in a few places, also on Amazon. But this recipe will work too > http://hoosierhomemade.com/peppermint-fudge/ Just substitute the peppermint extract for tutti-fruiti flavor. You can buy the flavors near the Wilton cake decorating supplies at Walmart or craft stores. And leave off the candy canes.

  4. If I want to use real sugar instead of Truvia, would the change be the same amount or twice the amount?

    1. For real sugar, you use twice the amount of Truvia listed.

  5. I bought a bag of at least 2 dozen of those flavor packets at a food surplus/outlet store for 99¢. I figured that I could just mix them into my own frosting. Excited to find another use for them. Just finished making “gingerbead” flavored fudge..

  6. If I wanted to use a different flavor, other than cotton candy, could I just change the type of Duncan Hines Frosting Creation used?

    1. Hi Jeanne, you should get about 55-65 pieces of fudge, depending on the size you cut them.

  8. recipe sounds deliciousi want to make these for a school bake sell do they have to stay refridgerated?

    1. Hi Erika, the fudge should stay fine for the bake sale, unless it’s sitting out in the sun. If you are concerned about it melting, you could display it in a container with ice packs under it.
