One of the all time favorite family friendly board games, is Candy Land. Who doesn’t love Candy Land? And since FishMama at Life As Mom put out a request for Birthday Cakes, I just had to join in.

We started with half chocolate and half yellow cake.
Warning: many pictures ahead, eat before looking

Frosted it green

Added the sprinkles

And a Starburst walkway

And then even more candy goodness…
Gumdrop Pass

Lollipop Land

Ice Cream Cones

Candy Cane Corner

Birthday Girl’s Name in Gummies

All the sugar goodness

Here is a list of the candy I used:
Starmints (red & white circles on sides)
DumDum Suckers
Large Gumdrops and Small Gumdrops (on top of cones)
3 Cake Ice Cream Cones (2 cut off to make mini cones)
Starburst Fruit Chews
Gummy Letters for name
Cherry Gummy circles (cut on one side, put a toothpick in to make candy cane, I couldn’t find candy canes this time of year, so made do with these, I think they turned out cute)
Mini Marshmallows
Blue Rock Candy
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
-Cones (if you think it’s thick, make it a little thicker, it really needs to stand up on the cone, and then sprinkled with multicolored sprinkles)
-Happy Birthday and Start letters (piped on with small tip)
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
-Chocolate Forest (again, make it really thick, piped on with large circle tip and sprinkled with chocolate sprinkles)
And here is the Birthday Girl, she was really excited about her cake

The cake was enjoyed by all

Oh, that is so fun! The step-by-step photos are perfect for those of us who can’t visualize how you got from start to end without seeing all the processes.

Wow, are you the most inventive baker ever!! I loved this whole thing–I’d have no idea where to start if it were up to me to invent, but your step-by-step photos and commentary give me inspiration!

That is just the CUTEST cake ever! WHat a clever idea. (but I don’t like CandyLand at all!). After playing it with a younger sister years ago, 4 of my own, and now the grandkids, I just SHUDDER at the thought of playing that game. I sometimes “stack” the deck so the child gets the “picture” cards of the ice cream or something WAY ahead so they can win fast. LOL

HOW ADORABLE! I love it!!!

Delicious! Thanks for taking so many photos. It was fun to see them. I was hungry before I got done, and I didn’t go eat before like you suggested. But I kept my computer on my lap so I could not float to the kitchen to eat………
I am amazed at your detail and creativeness. What an awesome cake and beautiful to look at. I am glad to see that it was enjoyed by your loved ones.
Thanks for sharing with us.
