Back to School with Crayola

Crayola has been around forever! Being a long time lover of coloring myself, I have fond memories of my Mom buying me crayons and a coloring book when I was home ill. And every year without fail, there were also Crayola crayons in my stocking on Christmas morning. I carry on the tradition with my boys and have always put crayons in their stockings as well. In fact, I already bought 3 boxes for this Christmas, since they are such a great price…only .40 cents at Walmart!

We recently received some fun Crayola products, and even though I have teenagers, not 5 minutes after I opened the box, my youngest {14 y.o.} had the Crayola 3-D Dry Erase Activity Set open and was drawing.

The 3-D set as well as the Crayola Dual-Sided Dry-Erase Board come with the fun new Dry Erase Crayons, also available in bright colors.

Crayola strives to offer high-quality, value priced back-to-school supplies that Moms across the country look for, as well as a partner in helping to raise creative and inspired kids. Crayola believes that before a life can be filled with wisdom and accomplishment, it must be filled with wonder, adventure and day dreams. The creatively alive children of today will grow into inspired adults who will one day
lead the world.

Another one of the really cool Crayola products that we had the opportunity to try is this Dry-Erase Activity Center. Not only can children practice their alphabet and writing skills, they can also play games or write stories.

There is a grid card to play categories, by writing out a word on the left and then coming up with words that start with those letters. Even the age old game of Tic-Tac-Toe can be played on the grid.

How many times have you gone to a restaurant or a doctor’s appointment, where you needed to keep your kiddos occupied? I know when our boys were young, I would have LOVED some of these products for them.

Years ago, when my boys were young, I used to have a special basket on top of the refrigerator that only came down when I was on the telephone. Now of course, with all the time we spend on the computer, most of us don’t spend as much time talking on the phone. But you could certainly have a couple of these fun new Crayola products set back and pull them out when you need 20 or 30 minutes quiet time.

No children in your house? That’s okay…Crayola has you covered too! I love their new Dry Erase markers, and use them on my organizing board. See the beautiful piece of artwork that my oldest drew a couple years ago? A perfect example of how a child’s creativity is ignited when they are young. Andrew has been drawing and creating ever since he could hold a pencil or crayon.

What fun products are on your back-to-school list?
