Have you heard about Alice? Everyone needs an Alice. Even the Brady Bunch did
I have to admit, I’m not really much of an online shopper. And especially when it comes to our household items.
When I heard about Alice months ago, I checked out their site a little, but dismissed it, not really thinking too much about it again.
But, while attending the Blissdom Conference earlier this month, I received a $20 New Customer Gift Card at the Savvy Blogging Dinner.
Well, of course, I wasn’t going to let a $20 Gift Card go to waste, so I headed back to their site and did a little more looking. And what I found was amazement! Could I really buy our household items, online, have them shipped directly to my door for FREE, compare prices and SAVE money?
Yep, I sure could!
With my Gift Card, I received the items pictured above, I spent $17.94. Of course, being the frugal homemaker that I am, during my next trip to Walmart, I took a list of the items that I received from Alice and did my own price comparison. Well…Walmart prices were less than Alice, but let me tell you, only 50 cents! I was happily surprised.
I not only can save money shopping with Alice, I save gas money and stay within budget. Because, we all know, we very seldom buy only what’s on our list, especially at Walmart or when we have the children with us.
Alice is also very user friendly. The website is simple to navigate, even for this non-techy Mom. They have a wide variety of products, including items for the bathroom, bedroom, office, nursery, kitchen, garage and even the pantry to name a few. The products are shipped, FREE, and I received mine in only 2 days.
As you probably know, if you have been visiting here, this week is my 1 year Blogging Anniversary. I’m celebrating with a week full of giveaways! On Monday, I offered a Photo Album and yummy Orange Sweet Rolls and on Tuesday, I offered the fun Hello Cupcake Cookbook. Each of the giveaways is open for 1 week, allowing you plenty of time to enter.
Today, I’m excited to be able to offer a $20 New Customer Gift Card provided by Alice, to one lucky reader!
Full Disclosure: Alice is providing the $20 New Customer Gift Card directly to the winner. My opinions of Alice and their products are my own.

Sadly (or not), my best tip to stay on budget is to let my husband handle the budget! He’s been much more involved in the day to day financial stuff since last fall and things are so much better! If nothing else, I have less stress.

My favorite tip for staying on budget (or at least trying to!) is to use a computer program (or even a spread sheet) to keep track of how much you are spending in different categories.

My best tip is to plan out what you’re going to spend and use only cash. Something about handing over cash makes it harder for me to overspend, and once the envelope is empty, there is no more spending. It’s working for me!
I subscribed! On a tight budget to meet my goal of saving 1/4 of our income this year, every little bit will help, so that $20 would find a good home here!

My tip is i always try to stick to my list.
thanks for a great opportunity to win.

My favorite tip is only go into the store when you need something and stick to the list while you’re there. Too often we shop for entertainment, boredom, whatever…we end up seeing things we “need” that we really don’t. If we never see it, we don’t miss it.
My favorite tip for staying on budget is buying the things I need when they are on sale and stocking up at that time.
We use coupons and shop with the help of the grocery store flyer that is where the sales are mentioned.

My best tip for staying on budget is to just stay out of the stores as much as possible. The less I go, the less I spend…and it’s not like we’re doing without. I just buy fewer non-essentials when I stay out of the store.

Favorite tip to stay on budget? Um… not go shopping?
Ok, that works for random shopping for things, but for food shopping… not so much.
Actually, though, my husband does most of the food shopping for our family (we fell into this pattern when my youngest was a baby) so it takes a lot of the pressure off of me – HE’s the one doing the spending! Overall, though, I just try to stick to my list if I go shopping. I can’t walk in and do it cold, or I’ll either overbuy or impulse buy, or I’ll forget something.
my best tip to stay on budget is to know what your budget is and stop spending when you’re close to reaching it
