4th of July Tie Dye Tshirts

Jump to recipe!

Our hometown Fourth of July Celebration is pretty big, in fact, our parade in the states largest ever! We always enjoy staking out our spot to sit and enjoy the parade, complete with an awesome fly-over. Then in the evening, we head to the fairgrounds to enjoy the fireworks.

When Walmart asked if I could come up with a DIY project for the 4th of July, I headed right to the craft section. I thought about making a bracelet, you know they have some really cool beads and supplies there now, but then decided it would be more fun to try Tie Dye Tshirts with Casey.

We had a great time creating them, and they were a lot easier than I thought they would be.

Tie Dye Tshirt Supplies

  • Tie Dye Kit {they have several with different colors and sizes at Walmart}
  • Tshirts {found these in the craft section, $2.97 each}

Instructions

  1. Dampen Tshirt, then wrap sections with rubber bands
  2. Add water to the squeeze bottle with dye, using gloves {provided in kit} squirt dye onto Tshirt
  3. Wrap in plastic
  4. Or place in ziploc bags, let sit 6-8 hours

We made a swirl, a bullseye and a crumbled one.

Have you ever made Tie Dye Tshirts before? Do you have any helpful hints for us?

Disclosure: This post is part of a campaign I am participating in with the Walmart Moms. Walmart has provided me with compensation  for this post. My participation is voluntary and opinions, as always are my own.
