2. Drink a Green Smoothie

We hear all the time that we need to be eating more leafy green vegetables or just vegetables in general and while I’m not a fan of the taste of spinach or kale in salads or cooked dishes, I’ve found that I really enjoy them in a green smoothie that I make for breakfast and enjoy throughout the day.

7. Make your own 100 Calorie Snacks

I don’t know about your family but it seems that we can make all the plans, do all the right things when it comes to eating right. We make and follow a menu plan, use organic vegetables and products as much as we can, adjust our portion sizes. But there is always one area that derails our plans… SNACKING. So after we figured this out we started to make our own 100 Calorie Snacks.

8. Hydrate/Drink Water

Almost everyone needs to drink more water daily. It’s hard to do, I know that sounds silly but I really need to have some sort of flavor in my water, so many times I’ll choose tea over plain water. And contrary to conventional wisdom caffeine does not dehydrate you so go ahead and enjoy that cup with no guilt.

9. Take 10 Minutes to Relax/Read/Meditate

STRESS! Did you know that stress can cause all kinds of health problems. Not only does it just make you plain grumpy and not a whole lot of fun to be around it causes your body to produce Cortisol. And this has been proven to add fat to your belly area which just happens to be the most unhealthy area you could have fat.

So take 10 minutes to read a book, or meditate. Simply do something or maybe nothing for 10 minutes to relieve some of the stress that has built up throughout the day.

10. Annual Appointments

Taking care of your health also means that you need to know what’s going on in your body. It’s time to make your annual appointments.
